Buenos Aires.- In the photo taken on January 11, 2024, Conicet researchers managed to inhibit in vitro studies a molecule that would favor the entry into the bloodstream of the toxin released by the bacterium Escherichia coli, which causes the development of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a serious disease that mainly affects boys and girls under the age of five and can lead them to require dialysis, a kidney transplant or even death.
